We are a wide ranging group of people from various backgrounds who are provide service to those less fortunate than ourselves and to foster good-will, fellowship and understanding between members, locally and worldwide. Regular meetings allow us to be both social and proactive in our charitable endeavours, normally our meetings are on Thursdays from 19:30 at the Calypso Hotel in Marsalforn.
Rotary Club Gozo manage various fund-raising events throughout the year from individual charity auctions to larger ventures like this year's Gozo Week there will always be plenty of opportunities to take part. One of our current main projects is the Gozo Vocational Fund, it's aim is to support the career aspirations of young Gozitans by providing finance for tuition or study materials to students in need. Another ongoing project has been assisting the Friends of the Sick & the Elderly in Gozo (FSEG) acquire, stock and open a Storage and Distribution Centre. We are always looking for more donations to help finance the various projects locally and through the Rotary Foundation.
Every month or so we host a guest speaker. These are many and varied and have included a past speaker from the Malta House of Representatives, experts on history and culture, and speakers on topical affairs.
The Rotary Foundation has raised nearly $1 billion since 1979 to help eradicate polio worldwide, recently releasing another $34.8 million as part of the
End Polio Now campaign. Rotary Club Gozo provides an annual grant to the Rotary Foundation in support of this initiative.
A few times a year the club shows films. The films are selected by club members and range from less well known movies to popular ones from recent years. Recent favourites included Mama Mia and The 39 Steps.
Enjoy a social evening with Rotary Club Gozo playing Bocci, eating pizza or pasta, and drinking whatever takes your fancy from the bar.
